Summer in Southern California

We didn't spend all our time in Disneyland. We also took a day to visit UNIVERSAL STUDIOS. The entire Sanchez family went to the movie theme park. Nana, Papa, Maurice, Annette, Kennedy, Mason, and the Williams family all went together.

They boys all got to ride on Back To The Future ride.

And the Jurrassic Park ride!!! (even Nana & Papa took a turn)

Miles and Kennedy teaching Spidey a couple of new tricks!

Did someone say Vita-Vita-Veggimen???

It's Summertime

With work finally calming down. I wrapped Pirates 3 and Transformers. It's been a crazy work schedule so we wanted to take a lil' summer vacation to give me time with the FAMILY!!! Miles and Roman have been missing their Dad, so we figured the best way to get quality time would be a family trip to the HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH!!!

DISNEYLAND!!!

Our summer vacation was a long exciting adventure. It was great to see the boys get to enjoy 4 days at Disneyland. The first day at the park we were joined with Nana and Papa. We went on as many ride we could get on and had a great time.

Michele and the boys with Eyore.

They opened the new ride FINDING NEMO!!! while we were there and the average wait time was 4 hours to get on the ride. This is the new updated version of the SUBMARINE ride at Disneyland that we rode on as kids. So, naturally we wanted our boys to experience it too.

We also spent one day at the CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE theme park as well. We saw the High School Musical parade and rode on the splash raft ride (which Miles loved).

Unfortunately we ran into some pitfalls on our trip. We took hundreds of photo's our first two days at the park, but someone stole our camera... :( So, we only ended up with photo's from our last day in the park.

Closets for everyone...

Since we had to remove the closet in Mile's room for the new hallway we had to build a new one for his room.

We learned that in order for a new room to be considered a ROOM when selling it had to have it's own closet.

If we tried to sell the house without a closet in the addition we couldnt count it as a bedroom. We would have to call it a loft, or something other than a bedroom.

Miles' room now has it closet located in the new rooms area. It takes away some of the big space but this now gives Miles a new WALK in closet.

The closet for the new room will act more as a storage space for us, but will be more than adequate space as a working closet.

(the closer they get to finishing the new room the more I like the idea of making it a Home theatre!!! I can dream right?)

Getting closer to our new room...

Now that the floor is built and the stable frame work is finished it's time to add the new closets and the electrical outlets and light switches.
To free up some space on the ceilings we had them install some POT LIGHTS for all our lighting needs. They are cheap and look much cleaner than fixtures.
This view is looking down the hallway from the new room.
Its hard to believe that this was all wasted space above our heads.

This is looking inside from the front door entrance.

The ceiling is still going to be at 9 feet, so we don't have to worry about the low lying feeling for the room.
(dust is everywhere-see the covers on everything)

WE'VE GOT DOORS!!!

The door on the left is the new entrance into Miles' room with the right door leading to the new room.

The angle in the ceiling made it possible to create a roomy storage area.

This place is a PIGSTY!!!

What were we thinking when we decided to add a room addition to the house!?!?!
The process is moving along pretty quickly. It's only been 3 weeks since we started and all of the framework is now completed. We only have a two man team doing all the work, but they are hard working and FAST!

This shows the new flooring created in the living room area (looking at front door).

This is our new room!!! (note the light fixture that used to be over our dining room table).

The slanted ceiling takes away some of the headroom, but we plan on making that a small storage space.

GRADUATION!!!

Yes, it's official. Miles Ethan Williams has graduated from pre-K! Miles has been in T.C. McDaniels school for 2 years, and has had a great experience there. His graduation had a theme this year. The instructors Mrs Debra , Mrs Gloria, Mrs Karen, and Mrs Jenny wanted to do something special with this years graduation. The theme they decided on was to have the kids dress up as circus characters. There were lions, and ballerina dancers, and clowns.

Miles was selected to be the RING MASTER!!! He was in charge of introducing all the entertainment acts for the day. Since Miles likes being the center of attention it was the perfect role for him.

Arena Football - SABERCATS!!!

Since our brother-in-law, Maurice has a cousin who plays for the San Jose Sabercats we like to go to the games and see him play. Omar Smith plays as a defensive specailist. Miles love going to the games and seeing all the fireworks and loud noises of the game.

Have to tear down to build up!!!

This month we decided to renovate the house just a bit. When we bought the house we thought that 3 bedrooms would be more than enough space for us. Well , having two boys changed our thinking. We wanted to add another room over the dining room. This would give the boys a playroom of their own and we wouldn't have random toys all over the rest of the house.

Reflections from Easter 07

Easter was very active for the Williams' this year. We had out of town family members visit us, and the weekend was chock-full-of festive activities.

The next Hank Aaron???

Mr. Miles Williams is tearing it up on the baseball diamond. He's the youngest player on the team at 5 years old, but you'd never be able to tell by his gameplay. It seems like he's always getting a hit when he's up to back, and he's even making great defensive plays on the field. He has played every position, but he likes catcher the best. Go figure! The out field can be a bit dull for him if the other team doesn't hit to him. He can get bored at times and while he's looking up at the sky, or playing with the flies, he's been know to let a ball roll right past him because he's not paying attention. His other favorite potition is first base.

Sorry for the absence...

It's been a CRAZY month. My work on "Pirates of the Caribbean - At worlds end" finally finished. Work was very hectic and prevented me from updating the blog with new pics. It's always tough on the family with me working late hours and weekends, but I was able to attend a few of Miles' baseball games. Now that Pirates 3 is complete I now get the joy of working on the next big summer blockbuster "Transformers" by Michael Bay.

Working these 12-14 hour days has not been easy, but it's only for the next 6 weeks then we are taking a nice long vacation. Disneyland looks like the location this year. Miles and Roman will have a ball running around the park. We'll be sure to have photos of our adventure and who knows we may even get to see Davy Jones on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride!?!?

Easter is coming!!!

(before)

Today we decided to get our Easter photos taken. Here is a teaser.
(after)

Braves are on the WARPATH!!!

It's amazing to see such great improvement in such a short time. The braves have really come together as a team and learned to play as such. The second game of the season saw some much needed changes as a team.

(miles made it to third)

The Braves struggled at the plate during the home opener against the A's. However, that was short lived. The Braves turned it around against the Pirates, and the Reds. They tore up the plate with HIT after HIT. Even Michele decided to be more than a "Mom" in the stands. Michele took over as the "pitching coach" for the team, and did a great job filling in. Now it appears that they can't live without her.

The Braves' coach likes to give each player a turn at every position. Miles was able to play CATCHER against the REDS. Being a lefty didn't slow him down a bit. He caught throws from the pitcher and even tagged out a couple of runners at home plate. He enjoyed wearing the pads, and had a great time.
...

Let's go Braves!!!

Opening Day!!! MARCH 24th, 2007 Miles and his new team the BRAVES marched onto the Cordelia Tri-Valley Little League diamond waiting to leave their mark on baseball forever.

These Lil' kids grabbed their gloves and bats hoping to be the next Willie Mays, or Hank Aaron.

It was a gorgeous Saturday Morning. The sun was shining and the baseball gods were smiling.

These little guys and gals were ready to play! For the first time ever, Miles ran out onto the field wearing No. 15 ready to play a sport he loves. Although he didn't see much action the in field, or get a hit, we all had a great time.

Miles has been busy the last couple of weeks practicing baseball with his team the BRAVES!!! The season officially starts tomorrow so wish them luck... Here are a few photo's of the team in action preparing for the big day...

GO BRAVES!!!

Miles' 5th Birthday!!!

It's Miles' big day and he is no longer considered a lil' boy! For his theme this year he decided to go with Choppers!!! He loves motorcycles (just like his daddy), and wanted all his decorations to have custom motorcycles all over them. His mother even went as far to have a "chopper" pinata!!!
We were lucky enough to have all of his neighborhood friends AND all his school friends attend. Everyone seemed to have a great time filled with hot dogs, chips, and of course, cake, and ice cream. Mommy planned a wonderful play date birthday party, and Nanna & Poppa even came up from Los Angeles for the big day. Miles had so many presents from family and friends that his head was spinning...
After the party Miles ended his day playing with his daddy. We played baseball in the backyard with his new baseball bat given to him by his Mom-Mom & Pop-pop from the east coast!!!

It's fun being 5!
